All the wedding-related events will take place in Alexandria, Virginia. One of America’s most historic communities, Alexandria was established in 1749, and its Old Town section is known for its cobblestone streets, unique shops and beautiful townhomes. Alexandria is located only 6 miles, or a few Metro stops away, from Washington DC.

Three major airports serve the Washington, D.C. area:

·           Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) – 4 miles from Alexandria.

·           Dulles International Airport (IAD) – 30 miles west of Alexandria.

·           Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) – 60 miles north.

the hotels at which we’ve set aside room blocks are walking distance from the metro from National Airport. For transportation from the other airports, we suggest a cab or SuperShuttle (1-800-BLUE VAN).

Train: AMTRAK stops in Alexandria and the station is a short walk or cab ride away from any of the hotels.

Local Transportation:

The best and cheapest way to get around Washington, D.C. and the Northern Virginia area is by Metro, Washington’s subway system. Nearly all attractions, including the Smithsonian museums (all free!), the White House, the Capitol, Washington Memorial, Union Station, and the Kennedy Center are all accessible by Metro. Please note that Washington’s traffic is notoriously bad and making every effort to take public transportation is encouraged (or leave extra time for traffic!).
